Mirabror Usmonov is a prominent statesman and sports figure.

He was born on July 4, 1947, in Tashkent. In 1978, he graduated from the Samarkand Cooperative Institute with a degree in economics.

From 1990 to 1992, he served as the Minister of Trade of Uzbekistan.

From 1992 to 1994, he led the "O‘zbeksavdo" company.

From 1994 to 2005, he held the position of Deputy Prime Minister.

From 2006 to 2018, he served as the President of the Football Federation of Uzbekistan.

From 2013 to 2016, he simultaneously headed the National Olympic Committee.

Since 2005, he has been a senator and is currently the Deputy Chairman of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment, and Tourism.

Although he did not lead the National Olympic Committee for a very long time, he managed to write his name in golden letters in the history of the nation's sports. Today, we can say with great pride that under the direct leadership of Mirabror Usmonov, the Uzbekistan delegation recorded its best results at the Olympic Games.

As a result of the direct support from our state leadership and our President personally, as well as the initiatives of Mirabror Zufarovich, for the first time in the history of Uzbek sports, financial incentives were established for athletes who won Olympic licenses and for the coaches who trained them.

This care shown to athletes and coaches later bore fruit at the XXXI Summer Olympic Games. The Uzbekistan delegation took 21st place among representatives of 207 countries at the Olympic Games hosted by Rio de Janeiro, with 4 gold, 2 silver, and 7 bronze medals—a total of 13 medals. Thus, under the leadership of Mirabror Usmonov, the Uzbekistan delegation managed to double its performance at the Olympic Games in terms of both quality and quantity.

Mirabror Usmonov's services were duly recognized by our Government, and he was awarded the following orders and honorary titles over various years:

Order of "Mehnat Shuhrati" (1995)

Certificate of Honor of the Republic of Uzbekistan (1997)

Order of "Fidokorona xizmatlari uchun" (2007)

Order of "El-yurt hurmati" (2011)

Honorary title of "Honored Youth Coach of Uzbekistan" (2016)

Order of "Do‘stlik" (2017)

Mirabror Zufarovich was also awarded the FIFA Order of Merit and the Olympic Council of Asia's "Gold Order."

On July 4, 2017, by decree of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Mirabror Usmonov, who was celebrating his 70th birthday, was awarded the "Do‘stlik" order.

The National Olympic Committee is known as a humble person, a kind leader, and a strong professional dedicated to his profession.
